FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Using our Vitrinor and Magefesa products, you will achieve exceptional results in the kitchen. Our products are made with high-quality, durable, and resistant materials. To maximize their performance and maintain them in perfect condition, we recommend carefully reading the instructions for use. These will guide you on proper usage to achieve optimum performance and perfect maintenance.

What should I do before the first use?

Before using your cookware for the first time, wash, rinse, and dry it thoroughly. Then, condition the non-stick surface with a thin layer of oil.

What cleaning products can I use? Can I use the dishwasher?

A soft sponge and warm water are all that are required to clean the cookware. The high-quality non-stick coating makes cleaning extremely easy. Although our products are dishwasher safe, to extend their service life, we recommend washing them in hot water with a mild detergent. The chemicals in dishwasher detergents and high washing temperatures can weaken the surface and shorten the product's lifespan. Avoid using scouring pads or abrasive materials to prevent damaging the surface.

Can I use the frying pan on gas cookers and vitroceramic or induction hobs?

Vitrinor's enameled steel products are suitable for all types of cookers: gas, electric, vitroceramic, and induction. For induction cookers, it is advisable to use medium settings. For aluminum ranges, consult the instructions for use. Never put the cookware in the microwave.

What types of utensils can I use to cook food in the pan?

Avoid using metallic or sharp utensils, as they can damage the surface. To keep the non-stick properties intact for longer, always use utensils made of wood, silicone, or heat-resistant plastic.

At what temperatures should I cook?

Cooking at medium temperatures is recommended. Medium or low temperatures will cook the food in its juices, maintaining its flavor and nutritional properties, and also save on electricity or gas. Center the frying pan on the cooker to avoid damaging the handle or coating and to achieve optimal heat distribution.

Avoid sudden temperature changes, such as cooling the pan under the tap while it's hot or overheating it empty, as these can deform the bottom and affect heat distribution. Preheat the pan at medium-low power for about 30 seconds before using higher power to prolong the life of the non-stick coating.

What precautions should I take when cooking?

Never leave the cookware unattended on the stove or leave an empty piece on the heat, as overheating can damage the non-stick coating. Do not shake the cookware in contact with glass ceramic or induction hobs, as this may scratch or damage the surface. Always use a protective cover to avoid burns when handling hot cookware. Turn off the cooking surface before moving the product.

If food remains stuck to the product, how should I remove it?

If food burns or sticks to the non-stick surface, fill the pan with water and a spoonful of bicarbonate soda, and let it soak for a few minutes until the mixture turns brown. The stuck food will rise to the surface. Rinse as usual afterward.

 Recommendations for use and maintenance

  • Before using for the first time, the pan should be washed and dried thoroughly.
  • Inspect the pan to make sure it has no damage, such as dents or chips in the coating, or any other damage that may have occurred during transportation or at the point of sale. They might scratch the cooking surface.
  • Wash using a soft sponge and hot water. Do not use metal scouring pads or abrasive products.
  • Rub a thin layer of oil over the non-stick surface.
  • Avoid using sharp objects. We recommend using wooden or plastic utensils.
  • The non-stick surface may become darker through use. This is a natural effect that does not affect its functionality. This effect is more noticeable in light colours.
  • In induction hobs, use medium settings.
  • Wait for the pan to cool completely before washing to avoid burns or damage.
  • Avoid scratching the pan by unnecessarily moving it around on the hob.

Safety instructions

  • Do not allow direct flames to come into contact with the handle as this weakens the Bakelite and can cause damage through breakage. Pans with Bakelite handles are not oven proof.
  • Pans with metal handles can overheat with use, so make sure you use thermal protection when handling them.
  • Make sure the pan is stable and doesn’t spin around.
  • For gas hobs, make sure the pan is stable on the burner.
  • The pan and the hob ring should be the same diameter to help prevent energy loss and ensure efficient cooking performance.
  • Cook over a medium heat. Never leave an empty pan on the burner or overheat it as this can damage the lining and cause accidents.
  • Make sure the handle is positioned inwards or towards either side so that it is not knocked accidentally.
  • Do not add cold water to a hot frying pan, as thermal shock may deform it.
  • If the non-stick coating is worn or peeled off, stop using the pan.
  • On pans with screwed fittings, the handle may become loose over time. For your own safety, you should immediately tighten the handle using a conventional screwdriver and if this is not possible, you should no longer use the pan.
  • Replace the pan if you notice any deformations that affect its stability.
  • These pans are not microwave safe.
  • Do not touch or move hot cookware, wait for them to cool before handling to avoid the risk of burns.
  • Never leave the pan unattended while in use, as it may cause fires or accidents.
  • Keep the pans out of the reach of children while cooking.
