Pannini with ham and mushrooms

Not everything delicious takes hours to cook. Sometimes all you need is a piece of bread, some good ingredients and a quick blast in the oven. These ham and mushroom paninis are proof: crispy on the outside, melt-in-the-mouth on the inside and ready in less than 20 minutes. Perfect for a quick dinner or an impromptu snack that leaves your home smelling delicious.

Time to prepare: 20 minutes
Serves: 2
Difficulty: easy
Kitchenware used: Vitrinor baking tray

You will need:

• ½ loaf of bread (baguette or similar)

• 50 g of tomato sauce

• 100 g of mozzarella cheese grated

• 50 g of strips of cooked ham

• 50 g of fresh mushrooms sliced

• Origan to taste

• Extra virgin olive oil

How is it done?

Prepare the base.

Cut the loaf of bread in half and slice each half lengthwise: four perfect bases, ready to be transformed into mini homemade pizzas. Place them on your baking tray.

Spread the tomato.
Cover each piece with a generous layer of tomato sauce. Spread it with a spoon, as if you were painting happiness on bread. This juicy touch will give each bite that traditional snack flavour.

Add the ingredients.
Distribute the mushrooms and the strips of ham to your liking.

Finish with a sprinkling of grated mozzarella and a pinch of dried oregano. At this point, the aroma is already beginning to promise something serious.

Bake.
Preheat the oven to 200 °C. Drizzle the pannini with a drizzle of olive oil —that gloss golden that always enchants— and bake them for about 10 minutes, until the cheese bubbles

Serve and enjoy.
Remove them with care (the cheese melted is treacherous) and serve them straight from the oven.
It goes nicely with a light salad, and with your hands: there are pleasures that don’t need anything else.

Tips

These pannini come in a thousand varieties: tuna, chicken, roasted peppers, olives… and if you use bread from the day before, even better: the oven brings it back to life with a spectacular crunch.
